Matthew Chapter 4 marks the beginning of Jesus Christ’s public ministry. Matthew Chapter 4 Summary
The chapter begins with Jesus being led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting for forty days and forty nights, Jesus becomes hungry. Satan first tempts Him to turn stones into bread, but Jesus responds by quoting Scripture, declaring that man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
