Colossians Chapter 4 Summary
Paul begins by instructing masters to treat their servants justly and fairly, remembering that they too have a Master in heaven. This places earthly authority under God’s greater authority and reminds Christians that their relationships should reflect righteousness and fairness.
Paul then calls believers to devote themselves continually to prayer. Their prayers should be watchful and filled with thanksgiving. Prayer is presented as an essential part of the Christian life rather than something reserved only for difficult circumstances.

Paul sends greetings from several other faithful coworkers, including Aristarchus, Mark, and Justus. These men have worked alongside Paul for the Kingdom of God and have brought him comfort during his imprisonment.
Paul gives special attention to Epaphras, who continually labors fervently in prayer for the Colossian believers. Epaphras desires that they become spiritually mature and stand complete in all the will of God. His concern also extends to the Christians in Laodicea and Hierapolis.
Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas also send their greetings.
Paul instructs the Colossians to greet the believers in Laodicea and the church that meets in Nymphas’ house. He also commands that his letter be shared with the Laodicean church and that the Colossians read the letter coming from Laodicea.
Before closing, Paul gives Archippus a personal challenge: he must pay careful attention to the ministry he has received from the Lord and faithfully complete it.
Paul ends the letter with a greeting written in his own hand. He asks the believers to remember his chains and closes with a blessing of grace.
